The New Face of ECW?

Wrestling has been pretty interesting lately.  This whole ECW ordeal has shaken the WWE up quite a bit.  Some of it good, allot bad.  I like the idea of a third brand for the WWE, but only if done correctly.

I didn’t see last years One Night Stand.  I’m sorry I did.  For the clips I saw afterwards of it looked pretty good.  At the time I could have seen it, but I just didn’t trust it.  ECW had been closed for a while and I wasn’t sure what to make of it.  So last years comes and goes and of course I don’t pass up this next one.  So I get it and it was a great show in my opinion. The crowd was awesome!  I don’t think the crowd at Wrestlemania was as good.
Even though the ECW crowd was only like 2500 people, but still.  They ate John Cena alive!  Some of the chants were funny as hell.  I don’t think I’ve heard anyone chant “F you” to Cena so loud.  On top of that when John Cena through his shirt into the crowd and they kept throwing it back the crowd was going nuts!  The whole night was pretty entertaining.  Worth my $40 bucks?  Sure.

So after that great Sunday night, and a good Raw, I had high expectations for the debut of the show on Tuesday night.  Boy was that a waste of time.  I don’t get it.  First off all they had was an hour, which was all right.  But they wasted so much time.  I understand that they want to recap the PPV from Sunday, but it should have been just that.  They showed the entire Jerry Lawler Vs. Taz match. Which even though it was the shortest match on the card they still shouldn’t have bothered.  Then what the hell was the deal with that bitch Kelly, I think, deciding to tell everybody that she was going to strip for us later in the show.  Which anyone with even a shred of common sense knows isn’t going to happen, cable or no cable.  So later in the show what do they do?  Waste 10 minutes with this tramp “teasing” us.  Look, I like my porn and my wrestling in two separate entities please.  She’s no different then any other stripper they can find.  I think there was less then 30 minutes of real wrestling on the show.  To start the show we had the promo with RVD, Cena, Edge and Heman.  Which the outcome was predictable.  Now Heman has to go to Raw for redemption next week.

As some point the idea is for the branch to stand on it’s own two legs.  They can’t spend
All there time going after Raw.  Personally I think the brand is in trouble if they keep up the way their going.  Okay, so I’ll cut them some slack cuz’ it was their debut back on TV.  But they need to do something.  They do have the star power to make something happen.  I’ll admit it’s not the same ECW without the Duddley boys and New Jack.  I give the promotion a year before the plug gets pulled.  Which is sad really.  But once it leaves this time I think we should just leave it buried.  I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.  Keep it real people…
